November 2024

Now that we have been in our building for a few weeks, the Building Team and the Board are working on resolving the issues we’ve noticed with our new space.  Hopefully, they will all be resolved quickly. Don’t forget our rewilding of the contemplative garden, November 20th at 1 PM.

October 2024

Not much to report this month. We’ve had several services at our Gathering Space “On the Bend” and everyone is delighted. We do have a few things that need addressing and are working on them.  Don’t forget the Dedication Ceremony, Sunday, October 6 at 4:00PM.  Hope to see you there!

August 2024

The Building Team really doesn’t have anything new to report, which is WONDERFUL NEWS!  We will let everyone know when we will be having our grand dedication ceremony as soon as we are able. (In fact, the Opening Committee has been meeting in the new building and can report it’s marvelous!)

Are you as excited as we are?  We are so close to moving into our beautiful new home.  The contractors are crossing the remaining proverbial T’s and dotting the proverbial I’s (so many T’s and I’s!) as we prepare to take this monumental next step in the life of our congregation.  We have a group … Continue reading July 2024

The Building Team is almost finished, as our project gets closer to completion. Just a few more final steps until we can move “back home.”  We want to thank Brian Davis, Ray Calamari, Scott Edgett and his crew at North Fork Woodworks, and especially everyone who held our dream of rebuilding close to their hearts.

April 2024

The Building Team met with North Fork Woodworks and Brian Davis to check on the progress of the project and to choose paint options for the interior.  The BT is very impressed with how the building is looking.  It’s going to be very difficult for us to be patient about taking possession, but NFWW reminded … Continue reading April 2024

March 2024

After applying for a grant from ReWild Long Island, a non-profit group that supports native plantings in landscape design, some members of the Building Team met with them. We can report that ReWild has agreed to help us in our contemplative garden which will stand on the footprint of the old church. Interior work continues, … Continue reading March 2024

February 2024

The congregation was invited to a walkthrough of the project on January 21 and it was beautiful; cold outside, but warm and inviting inside.  Scott Edgett, Ray Calamari and Brian Davis were also in attendance and filled everyone in on the next steps to be completed.  Folks were very impressed with the storage areas, well-lit … Continue reading February 2024

January 2024

The Building Team met before the holidays to decide on lighting fixtures and to get an update on progress. Our contractors continue their great work; we seem to be far ahead of schedule! The exterior siding is complete and insulation has been installed. So many people have remarked how wonderful it is to see our … Continue reading January 2024
