UUS is a caring community that welcomes all, fosters spiritual growth, advocates for social justice, and works to make our community better.  Members join for many reasons.  They become involved and generously offer their talents and treasures.

We are guided by Unitarian Universalism and its Values which help unify us. Our strength comes from diversity of thinking and our members’ varied histories.  We enjoy creating community.  Members feel the power that comes from shared values.

Membership: After attending Worship Services and sponsored events, we hope that you will be excited about becoming an active member of the congregation.  Membership is a proactive decision.  It is a commitment to fellow congregants to be in community.

Although making a commitment might take some time and thought, becoming a member is relatively easy:

1. Meet with a Board Member.  It’s a chance to get to know our history, our strategic direction, what it is like to be part of the congregation, and some highlights of Unitarian Universalism.
2. A financial commitment.  A pledge for the upcoming year to donate funds to help sustain our congregation.
3. Signing the membership book.

Pledging: Finances are part of every congregation’s well-being.  There is an expectation that all members will make a financial commitment each year.  Pledging is a good faith intention to donate funds over our fiscal year which runs from June 1 – May 31.  Pledging is a personal decision and reflects one’s financial situation.  It also should reflect the value you place on UUS and its impact on your life.
