Meghan Boody tells stories, through pictures, about women and girls in predicaments and how to get out of them. Female versions of the male heroic quest, these photo novellas unfold in Boody’s unique brew of fairy tale, myth and personal memory. Boody began integrating Photoshop into her work in the early ‘90s and is considered a pioneer of this technology. Recent shows include “Radical Terrain” at the Rubin Museum, NYC; “Magical Realism” at the Houston Center for Photography; and “Fairy Tales, Monsters and the Genetic Imagination” at the Frist in Nashville, TN. Her work is in the collections of The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Herbert F. Johnson Museum at Cornell University and MONA in Tasmania. A monograph on Boody’s work was published by Kerber Verlag in 2016. For 18 years, Boody co-led Gang of Girls, a transformative think tank for women in creative fields. Boody is currently creating an intentional community based on healing, art and immersive experience in the French countryside.
