June 2018

As I write this, we are remembering our loved ones and friends who have served to defend our country and those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead.  Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields

The torch; be yours to hold it high,

Excerpt from “In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae, May 1915

Even though it is raining today, remember to keep pots watered.  They dry out much faster than plants planted in the ground.

Stay well and enjoy the blooming bushes and flowers.

Shalom,
