News and Notes From the President
As we head into the new church year together, our thanks to everyone for your continuing participation and support – at Sunday services and church activities, through committee and Board involvement, by keeping in touch with those who are away or home bound – all affirmations of the strength and tenacity of this enduring church community.
Looking ahead, this year promises to be one of progress and fulfillment. Currently, we are eagerly awaiting the development of the Construction Documents for the new building by our architect, Peter Marren. When the CDs are completed, they will be given to Eugene Burger for bidding by sub-contractors. We still anticipate a ground-breaking date this fall. A long-awaited and much-deserved celebration will be planned once we have the exact date – so, be ready!
The Board, with Rev. Valerie, is making plans for a one-day, congregational retreat in September. Mark Bernstein, an adjunct consultant with the UUA, will join us as facilitator for the retreat. We hope that everyone will bring their energy, enthusiasm and inspiration as we come together to clarify our mission, vision and covenant.
Summer is just around the corner. May you find many opportunities to enjoy the sights and sounds of our beautiful North Fork!
In fellowship,
Susan Pond, President
