We kicked off May 2025 by joining NFEC on May 3rd for their Repair Café at Floyd Memorial Library in Greenport, living into our reduce-reuse-recycle philosophy. Sunday, May 4th, was a big day, combining our traditional Flower Communion Service, New Member Celebration (welcoming 4 new members!), and 190th Annual Meeting, with a light lunch provided by our Membership & Outreach Committee. The congregation passed a deficit budget, counting on the fresh energy and momentum generated by the move into our new building to close the deficit by the end of the new fiscal year (May 2026).
Our regular activities – yoga-meditation on Mondays, Saturday AA meetings, and monthly SAC, Covenant Group and North Fork Action Center meetings – continued. May also featured a special event – a Game Night and Spaghetti Dinner on the 16th – lots of fun, good food, and fellowship enjoyed by all!
On May 17th, we joined Malcolm Day’s family in a celebration of his life. Malcolm, husband of our Music Director, Charlotte Day, was a very special part of our congregation and will be greatly missed.
