We’re distributing “Know Your Rights” handouts in English and Spanish at all SAC meetings. A large number were given out at the SAC table during the Southold Winterfest. If you know people who need this information or anyone who could post it, there are copies on the SAC table near the back door. If you can get copies made that would be of great help.

We collected a nice sized box of new and gently used socks for Maureen’s Haven along with some other items for CAST. During these troubled times, we need to keep reminding ourselves that we live in a community of caring and concerned neighbors.  Our winter collection of food and winter coats for CAST. and socks, hats, gloves and personal hygiene products for Maureen’s Haven, need to be delivered in the first week of March. If you still have items to donate to either cause, you can drop them off when the building is open Tues. March 4th., either between 10am-2pm, or between 4-5pm. Better yet, you can bring them with you Wed.,
March 5th between 10am-11am, when we’ll be loading up and ride along to make deliveries to Southold and Riverhead and return before 1pm.

Mark Haubner of NFEC was pleased with the turnout February 8th for Regenerating Life . He has received permission from film’s creator, John Feldman, to show the entire 2hr & 45-minute film in three consecutive parts. The 90-minute segments will be broken down into three 15-minute snippets (each followed by 15-minute Q&A sessions). These will be on Thursday evenings in March 5-7 pm on 3/13; 3/20; and, 3/27. The evening will include a discussion of “next steps.” Bring paper and pen for your notes and questions. Popcorn provided! We will be planning panel discussions in the future.

I sincerely apologize for the technical mess-ups affecting the February SAC meeting. I regret that a number of people were unable to attend. I’m working on clearing up the issues I had working by phone such that it will NOT happen again.

Our next meeting is March 12, 2025, 4:00-5:00 pm, in person in the small gathering space OR via Zoom link, which will be emailed the day prior to the meeting.
